Over additional conversations it was communicated the car required more work than initially believed due to greater damage and the hire car has been extended. Hire car was involved in an accident, someone ran into the back of it and GIO was notified. Called repairer for an update, was informed I had collected the car! I assured the repairer I had not collected my car and I was then informed it was sitting in the corner of the workshop and they had forgotten about it. My daughter questioned what looked like a broken gear stick and was informed by the repairer the tow truck driver probably took it off to get the car onto the tow truck. My daughter, who is familiar with the car and has authority to speak and act on my behalf as this situation has caused me a lot of stress, was taken through the required repairs with the assessor at the car (2x new tyres on the passenger side and new computer and keys (as stolen key was not recovered with the car). Car towed to repairer - shortly after Police concluded their assessmentĨ. Car located/assessed by police - Tuesday 6th/Wednesday 7th September 2022ħ. Hire car supplied - Friday 2nd September 2022Ħ. It is now Monday 6th February 2023 and no call has been received from GIO (as promised on Wednesday 25th January 2023 when an official complaint was made) and I am still driving a damaged hire car.ĭid you feel your policy was good value?
